Family Walks

Adventure is always just one step away in the heights of Jabal Akhdar – and better still, history, culture and stunning natural beauty are just as abundant.

Our mountaintop was once under water. It’s hard to believe, but there are plenty of fossils to prove it, and hunting them is always a rewarding experience, especially with family.

Some of the area caves are even older than the fossils. More than a dozen are accessible, showcasing millions of years of geology – as well as human settlements only recently vacated.

Traditional villages can also be found, with homes and roads of stone and mud, amidst the living cultural remnants from thousands of years of local life. Hundreds of ancient tombs also exist, along the mountaintop’s outskirts.
